End to End Guide

The End to End Guide on Long Trail Hiking is produced in association with the Green Mountain Club. While the information provided here is free to use, donations which go directly to fund the Green Mountain Club's activities, trail maintenenace and stewardship are strongly encouraged. The printed book can be purchased via the GMC website by visiting this link.

The End to End guide on LTH is organized by "section" or "map". Each section is referenced to a map section on the Long Trail map provided by the Green Mountain Club. If you have not yet purchased one of these maps, we suggest that you visit this link and purchase one. The map is waterproof, accurate, and combined with this guide will get you where you need to go through the length of the entire Long Trail system. Cost fo the maps are $9.95.

Most hikers who decide to do an E to E hike begin at the southern border of Massachusetts near Williamstown and travel north to the Canadian border. The first 100 miles of the Long Trail are shared with the Appalachian Trail so additional information on the first 100 miles may possible be found at other sources such as White Blaze. As a result, the LTH End to End guide on this website is constructed to follow the map, south to north. You may print, email, or create a PDF of any section that you wish by using the icons at the top right of the article or page
