Butler Lodge
Taylor Lodge to Butler Lodge - 3.3 Miles
Butler Lodge to Taft Lodge - 3.5 Miles

Butler Lodge was originally built in 1933 and reconstructed in 2000. The lodge has bunk and loft space for 14 people. The water source is a brook 75 feet east of the lodge. No campfires are permitted at Butler Lodge and an overnight fee is required. There is usually a caretaker in residence during the hiking season. Butler Lodge is a good stopping point before summitting Mount Mansfield going NOBO.

WARNING: The brook can fail during late summer

As with all shelters and camps on the Long Trail, please practice Leave No Trace principles and obey all rules posted in the cabins or shelters.

Spent the night 1/9/10 with a great group of friends. Fog all day and night, but some views through gaps. 15F, absolutely calm night. Loads of snow on the ground and on/in trees. Broke trail about half way up Wamp. to play in snow and take pics... Outhouse pretty full!! A super snug night in a fabulous shelter!
